THIS IS AN AMAZING FIND! THIS IS AN ANTIQUE AUSTRIAN SILVER FOOTED DISH HOLDER WITH LID. THE GLASS DISH IS BEAUTIFUL CUT GLASS. THE PIECE DATES FROM 1827 WHICH IS CONFIRMED FROM THE SILVER HALLMARKS. IT WAS MADE IN VIENNA AND IS 13 LOTH WHICH INDICATES THAT IT IS 812/1000 SILVER. EUROPEAN SILVER WAS TRADITIONALLY ABOUT 800 PARTS SILVER. THE PIECE IS MONOGRAMED ON THE LID AND FOOTED DISH HOLDER. THE LID HAS INITIALS AND AN ENGRAVED DATE OF 1828. THE LID HAS MOLDED GRAPE LEAF DESIGN THAT IS ATTACHED SEPERATELY TO THE PIECE. THERE ARE MAKER'S INITIALS ON BOTH PIECES OF THE SILVER. IT HAS A SMALL DENT ON THE SIDE OF LID RIM. THERE ARE SOME TINY FLEA BITES ON THE GLASS RIM. IT IS UNCLEAR IF THE GLASS DISH IS ORIGINAL TO THE PERIOD OF THE SILVER PIECES. THERE IS SOME TARNISH. IT IS IN REMARKABLE CONDITION CONSIDERING IT IS ALMOST 200 YEARS OLD. IT MEASURES ABOUT 4.5" IN HEIGHT.
